The Alec Bradley Project 40 was conceived to help create a deeper understanding as to why cigars have a positive cognitive impact on the mind and body. Similar to music, cigars have a calming effect that allows us to feel in control as well as feel rewarded. To that end, Alec Bradley set out to create a proper blend that was an exceptional balance of blend, price, and experience. Made in Jesus Fuego’s factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, Project 40 uses a blend of Nicaraguan filler tobaccos and a Habano binder from Brazil, and a Mexican San Andres wrapper. Tasting notes include flavors of cedar, dark chocolate, and vanilla with hints of coffee, leather, and pepper. It’s an extraordinarily complex blend at an incredible price.

Alec Bradley Cigar Co. has a well-deserved reputation for churning out hit after hit to satisfy their loyal fans. It’s due in no small part to the meticulous attention to detail of the brand’s founder, Alan Rubin. But it wasn’t a quick and easy journey. He joined the premium cigar industry in 1996 but stumbled to find his footing for a while. He had a line of bundle cigars made in the Dominican Republic by Henke Kelnrer of Davidoff that was good, and he introduced the industry’s first (and only) triangular pressed cigars. Around 2005, he was told of a great little factory in Honduras called Raices Cubanas, and he traveled there to see what the hype was about. It was this trip that altered the course of his company and set them on the path towards greatness. Raices Cubanas is the factory where the bulk of Alec Bradley Cigars are made now, however Alec Bradley does use other factories in Nicaragua for special projects too.
