To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the J.C. Newman Cigar Co., Stanford Newman had a dream of creating the family’s first true luxury cigar. His vision was to create one of the world’s best cigars regardless of cost. He didn’t even care if it sold. He just wanted something special, and the Diamond Crown was born. It was wildly successful. Fast forward to the company’s 120th anniversary, and Stanford’s kids, Bobby and Eric Newman, are back striking at the forge to create another exceptional blend worthy of the Diamond Crown name. This new cigar, made in the Dominican Republic and blended by Carlos and Carlito Fuente, was to be called the Black Diamond by Diamond Crown.
The Black Diamond Emerald by Diamond Crown is the newest member of the Diamond Crown family. The Newmans and Fuentes worked closely to develop this new blend and ensure it was worthy of the name. The Fuentes wasted no time in selecting some exceptional and unusual tobaccos for this marquee blend. The blend begins with 5 year aged Dominican filler and binder tobaccos grown by Fuente exclusively for this cigar. It is capped off with a dark, Connecticut Havana-seed Sun-Grown maduro wrapper. The entire production is limited to ensure quality and consistency. Rich, flavorful, and complex, these cigars are medium-plus in strength and feature flavors of cedar, cocoa, earth and sweetness that are tempered with notes of pepper and toasted nuts that dance in and out. The Black Diamond Emerald by Diamond Crown is truly a wonderful cigar!
