CAO is arguably one of the biggest success stories of the 90s cigar boom. Their breakout hit. The CAO Cameroon propelled them to be one of the best boutique cigar makers of the day. And it didn’t stop there! They marched forward bringing new and innovative cigars to the industry. One of those products was the CAO Brazilia, and thanks to its unique tobaccos, flawless construction, and excellent flavor it was an instant classic. It’s still one of the most popular CAO cigars made today! Since the Brazilia’s launch, Ricky Rodriguez has taken the helm of the CAO portfolio and introduced many outstanding new CAO lines. But if you ask him, the Brazilia is still one of the greatest CAO blends of all time. There’s just something special about the tobacco and the flavor it produces.
When you pick up a CAO Brazilia, there are 2 things you will notice immediately. The bold, colorful label that adorns the cigar, and the dark colored wrapper leaf of the cigar itself. The label (and other packaging) takes inspiration from the Brazilian flag using a bold green, yellow, and blue color scheme. Of course, this pays homage to the wrapper leaf’s origin. It’s a nice touch. Dig a little deeper, you’ll find this Diadema is expertly crafted. It is blended using perfectly aged Nicaraguan filler and binder tobaccos beneath that delicious Brazilian wrapper. It’s a big, flavorful, medium-full bodied smoke. Tasting notes include cedar, cocoa and black coffee flavors with notes of pepper and leather.
