Davidoff is an iconic name in the cigar industry. They were the first true luxury brand in the cigar industry and are known for producing some of the best, high-quality, and consistent handmade cigars in the world. Their factories in the Dominican Republic are cathedrals to the craft, and their tobacco stores are the envy of fellow manufacturers. It’s the company’s commitment to quality that drives them to regularly examine their work and adjust blends as necessary. Whether you grab a Davidoff today or 5 years from now, their process ensures that the cigars are remarkably consistent. It’s one of the many reasons why only a Davidoff is a Davidoff. Their cigars are truly timeless.
In 2013, Davidoff sent some ripples through the premium cigar industry by releasing a Nicaraguan puro named Davidoff Nicaragua. It was an instant sensation as the company had only produced Dominican cigars since the early 90s. These new cigars were bolder in both look and smoking profile, while still adhering to Davidoff’s strict quality control and balanced approach to blending. In 2016 they released a slightly revised version that was box pressed and featured a unique wrapper and an upgraded binder. The blend uses a tri-region blend of Nicaraguan fillers, a Nicaraguan Habana Jalapa binder, and is topped with a Nicaraguan Habano Oscuro wrapper. Tasting notes include flavors of coffee, pepper, and woods along with hints of cream, caramel, and chocolate. The dynamic flavor profile provides a unique and different experience from the other Davidoff Nicaragua blend.
