Montecristo is one of the most hallowed and recognized names in the world of premium cigars. With that kind of reputation and name recognition, introducing a new Montecristo requires not only careful planning, but a blend that continues to elevate the Montecristo brand to new heights. It’s this philosophy that continues to drive Montecristo’s blenders to innovate, while creating a new cigar that honors the brand’s past triumphs and glory. How do they do this you may ask? It’s no easy feat. In this case, they began searching their vast tobacco stores for leaves that are worthy to be included in the Montecristo Classic Series of cigars.

The Montecristo Epic Craft Cured Toro begins on a different path than the other Epic label Montecristo cigars. Rather than rely on their in-house Grupo de Maestros, the blending team turned to the venerable Plasencia family for both tobacco and manufacturing. The blend begins with a tri-region blend of Nicaraguan tobaccos, an Ometepe binder, and is topped off with a special Nicaraguan Rosado Oscuro wrapper leaf grown in 2006. Each of these tobaccos were aged in small pilones to ensure the flavors marry into a more harmonious profile. Tasting notes include flavors of cream, cedar, and nuts along with hints of earth, pepper, and coffee. It’s one of those cigars that keeps you intrigued with its complexity and will have you seeking out your next craft cured fix.
