In 2006 to celebrate the Ashton brand’s 20th anniversary, Ashton came up with an idea to create a series of five cigars to celebrate the company’s heritage and success. Each year leading up to their 25th anniversary, they would release a new size of a blend. They turned to Arturo Fuente, their manufacturing partner in the Dominican Republic, to develop the special blend and sizes that would be included in the brand’s lineup. Being the faithful partners that they are, the Fuentes had an idea to use some of their oldest tobaccos and a rare wrapper leaf. They presented their ideas to Ashton and recommended sizes to best capture the essence of these special tobaccos. The idea was a hit, and the Ashton Estate Sun Grown was born.

The Ashton Estate Sun Grown is a master class is flavor and complexity. It exclusively uses Dominican tobaccos grown by the Fuente family. But these are not just any old Fuente tobaccos. For this milestone blend, Fuente dived deep into their archives to select some of the best and oldest tobaccos they have for the filler and binder blend. This unique recipe of ultra-mature tobaccos is finished in a beautiful, rare ,and glistening Dominican wrapper leaf, harvested solely to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of Ashton Cigars. The result is nothing short of spectacular. Complex flavors of cedar, graham cracker, cocoa, and earth are present along with notes of molasses, licorice, and pepper. This small batch commemorative is big on flavor and satisfaction.
