The K by Karen Berger Connecticut is a box-pressed beauty of a blend that was introduced in 2018. Unfortunately it was released at a time when many other brands also released cigars featuring Nicaraguan tobaccos with a Connecticut wrapper. It kind of got lost in the shuffle. In 2021, Karen Berger sought to change that with a big, new booth and bolder packaging at the year’s industry trade show. It made quite the splash! The blend remains the same. Nicaraguan filler and binder tobaccos from Esteli, and a golden Connecticut-seed wrapper from Ecuador. Tasting notes include flavors of cedar, citrus, and nuts along with hints of milk chocolate, cream, and pepper. It’s a refreshingly unique blend that is worthy of your attention over and over again.

The story of K by Karen Berger cigars is the story of a widow’s resilience. After Don Enrique “Kiki” Berger passed away in 2014, his wife, Karen, wasn’t sure if she was able to honor and continue her husband’s legacy in the world of premium cigars. It took her a little while to sort things out, but in 2016 she launched her brand “K by Karen Berger” to celebrate that legacy. “K is a very important letter as it stands for both Kiki and Karen,” Berger had once told halfwheel. “All of my passion, desire and a lot of courage went into making these cigars.” And she’s done a tremendous job of creating new blends under the “K” banner that honors her past and celebrates her strong future.
