The La Gloria Cubana Spanish Press is made at the storied El Credito factory in the Dominican Republic. The blend gets its name from a special method of pre-embargo box-pressing used in Cuban cigar factories. While today we rely on molds to achieve the shape, the Spanish press was achieved by placing cigars in special boxes that would apply even pressure to the cigars. This resulted in an even press that eliminated air pockets and ensured a perfect draw. La Gloria Cubana Spanish Press uses filler tobaccos from Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, and Brazil along with a Mexican binder leaf. Topping the blend is a Nicaraguan Jalapa wrapper leaf. Tasting notes include flavors of cedar, earth, and natural tobacco along with hints of pepper, baking spices, and anise. It’s a whole new and delicious take on this iconic brand.
