Cigar maker Steve Saka has a unique approach to blending cigars. He blends what he likes to smoke, and if you don’t like what he creates that’s OK with him. He’s one of the most knowledgeable and particular guys the cigar industry has ever seen, so most people will give him a pass when it comes to his approach. As unique as Steve’s way of blending is, he also believes in a no compromise way of manufacturing. Hence the name Sin Compromiso (without compromise). His belief is pretty simple: if you truly believe in your product you are going to make it without compromise. Not in tobacco, not in manufacturing, not in aging, or packaging. Do it the way you truly believe it should be done.
Being the line that is named for his ethos of cigar making, only the best raw materials are used to craft Saka’s masterpiece. Beginning with a blend of exceptional Nicaraguan and Ecuadorian filler and binder leaves, what sets Sin Compromiso apart is its unique San Andreas Maduro wrapper. Saka believes this the finest and tastiest San Andreas Maduro wrapper leaf around. Once these tobaccos have been properly fermented and aged, the finest torcedors (cigar rollers) in the factory skillfully make the Sin Compromiso. The result is complex, smooth, and strong. Tasting notes feature layers of espresso, cocoa, toasted breads, and savory spices with hints of pepper, cedar, and sweet cream. Saka often boasts this is the finest cigar he’s ever blended, and he may be right.
