One of our favorite aspects of the cigar industry is the cast of characters that lead some of today’s cigar companies. Some are reclusive and would rather focus on their craft while others are outspoken and ostentatious. However, they all share a passion for outstanding tobacco. Dion Giolito, Illusione’s founder is what you might call a “super tobacco nerd.” That’s just the type of guy to be when your cigars are known for their balance and intricacy. Each year, the Illusione’s Singulare features tobacco from an individual farm or specific type of tobacco. This is where Dion’s knowledge and passion truly shine. He is able to skillfully build a blend around this single origin leaf.
The Singulare (Latin for individual) Seven Horns is a cigar is named for a verse in the bible (Revelation 5:6 in this case). It is a cigar that marks the 10th anniversary of the Singulare line, and it is the 1st shaped cigar to be included in the line. Giolito is characteristically quiet regarding the blend and origin of the tobacco, but we do know it is all Nicaraguan. Also, we know that the tobacco used is quite rare as he is able to produce only 7500 cigars in total of this blend. This medium-full blend features notes of cream, buttery crackers and oaky woods with hints of pepper, leather, and savory spices. The Singulare Seven Horns is a testament to the creativity of Dion Giolito.
